Doug's Sports is one of the most complete specialty sports stores in the Pacific Northwest. We are located in Hood River Oregon, in the Columbia River Gorge, one of the premier outdoor recreation areas in the country.The Gorge is world famous for windsurfing in high winds and big swells.
We began in 1984 as the first windsurfing retail store in the Columbia River Gorge. Doug's Beach State Park in Washington, on the Columbia River Gorge, is named after owner and founder Doug Campbell.
Our roots are in windsurfing but that's not all we are into now. When the winds not blowing the Columbia River is perfect for wakeboarding and wakesurfing, you can go for miles without ever turning the boat around. We have the gear your looking for whether you are into wakeboading, wakeskating or wakesurfing.
We have a passion for the snow as well as the water. With the year round skiing and snowboarding on nearby Mt Hood we have plenty of opportunity to get on and in the snow. We are Hood Rivers only complete full service ski and snowboard shop, with experts to advise you in all your snow pursuits.
When we can't get to the snow we can still keep our riding skills fine tuned by carving up the pavement. The Hood River to Moiser Twin Tunnels road is 4 miles long, of perfect pavement, with great hills, permanently closed to motorized vehicles. It has been the site of world class giant slalom and slalom skateboard events. We also have a 12 foot deep clover leaf bowl designed and built by Dreamland, just skating distance from the store. Our skateboard department has what you need for carving the streets or the park.
